Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SubScan AI ("the app", "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Avaitus Digital, the developer of SubScan AI.

2. Description of Service

SubScan AI is a subscription management application that helps users track and manage their recurring subscriptions. Key features include:

• Automatic subscription detection by scanning Gmail for payment receipts and invoices (requires your explicit authorization).
• Manual subscription tracking and management.
• Spending analytics and monthly cost summaries.
• Payment renewal reminders and notifications.
• Multi-currency support with live exchange rates.
• AI-assisted subscription negotiation and cancellation drafts.

3. Account Registration

You may create an account using Google sign-in or email/password registration via Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• All activities that occur under your account.
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at avaitusdigital@gmail.com.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

4. Gmail Access

SubScan AI requests read-only access (gmail.readonly) to your Gmail account to detect subscription-related emails. By granting this permission:

• You authorize us to access your Gmail inbox solely for subscription detection purposes when you initiate a scan.
• You confirm you are the owner of or authorized to grant access to the Gmail account connected.
• You understand that this access can be revoked at any time through app settings or your Google account permissions.
• Our use of Gmail data is governed by our Privacy Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy.

5. Accuracy Disclaimer

SubScan AI uses AI-powered detection which may not be 100% accurate. Subscription amounts, dates, service names, and billing frequencies are best-effort extractions from email content. Always verify important financial information independently. We are not responsible for any financial decisions made based on inaccurate subscription data detected by the app.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any local, national, or international law.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, servers, or other users' accounts.
• Use the app to collect, store, or process data in violation of any applicable privacy law.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code from the app.
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the app.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Upload or transmit viruses or any other malicious code.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

7. Intellectual Property

SubScan AI and all associated content, features, and functionality are owned by Avaitus Digital and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the service without our explicit written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

SubScan AI is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Avaitus Digital shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of profits, revenue, or data.
• Financial decisions made based on inaccurate subscription data.
• Service interruptions or downtime.
• Unauthorized access to your data.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Delete Account in the app. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms of Service.
• Engage in abusive, fraudulent, or harmful behavior.
• Are inactive for an extended period (we will notify you before any such action).

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the modified terms.
